Farming Industry (MSME Sector) Supply Chain Stakeholders Interactive Session/Market Research.

The newness of the Business Development Service (BDS) concept and its low level of acceptability/utilization informed the need to host interactive sessions in various regions of rural communities in the southern part of Kaduna State-Nigeria.

BDS provision (Training and Advisory services) is the next best thing in boosting business activity in the MSME sector as the importance of training and business information to the MSME sector cannot be overestimated.

At the interactive sessions (Zonkwa, Samaru, Kwoi and Kafanchan) we pulled together a crowd richly composed of major stakeholders in the catfish farming industry such as manufacturers and suppliers of fish feeds (Jubaili Agrotech & Dizengoff), Micro-finance Banks, Market women, Non-Governmental/Civil Organizations, Government Agencies (Kaduna State Agric Development Project), fish farmers (new and existing) and fish consumers. We focused on strengthening the catfish supply chain at every link by joining hands to chart an effective course out of poverty using catfish farming to create jobs and sources of earning a living.

Boosting MSME activity in catfish farming is an ongoing project (World Bank/FGN BDS Funded Project) we are executing with a realization of 50% of set targets in just a little over one quarter of the one year execution period.
